7 Quick Takes (Volume 1)

I’ve decided to do a 7 quick takes for the first time ever. Great for random ideas that just aren’t quite right for blog posts.

I am glad to hear that our host, Jennifer Fulwiler, is feeling well enough to get 7 quick takes up. Pulmonary embolisms suck. I wish her a speedy and full recovery and an otherwise uneventful pregnancy. Keep her in your prayers.

I love Twitter. There is a saying that Twitter helps you make friends with people you don’t know, while Facebook makes you hate people you’ve known for years. Or something like that.

I’ve certainly found that to be true. The 140 character limit is very conductive to conversation: It makes people get to the point and take turns talking. And then there are some great twitter moments, such as:

That Awkward Moment when you find that the new domain name for your mommy blog was once owned by a porn site.

Mandi has hopefully cleared things up, so be sure to say “Hi” at Messy Wife, Blessed Life.  (Although you might want to wait until you get home from work, just in case. You don’t want to have to explain that you weren’t really looking for “messy wife” porn, whatever that is.)

Learning that in some alternate universe, George W. Bush is known as the man who saved Major League Baseball.

K and I are going to have a night on the town tonight. Grandma and Grandpa are watching the girls. Children are great, but date nights are important. We’re both looking forward to the weekend!
